Meet the Chief

Angelo Orefice

 

Chief Angelo Orefice is a seasoned law enforcement executive with more than 34 years of progressive experience spanning federal, municipal, and higher education policing. He currently serves as Chief of Police and Deputy Emergency Manager for the City of Weatherford, Oklahoma, where he leads a full-service police department, oversees a multi-agency communications center, and supports emergency management operations across the region.

Chief Orefice began his career as a Drug Enforcement Agent, attaining the GS-13 level during approximately 10 years of federal service. He subsequently transitioned to municipal law enforcement, where he has served for more than two decades in roles of increasing responsibility. Over the course of his career, he has held command-level positions for 13 years, including the past three years as Chief of Police.

Chief Orefice holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and has completed graduate-level coursework. He is the recipient of the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy Award and the FBI-LEEDA Five Star Chief Executive Award. He maintains Advanced Peace Officer Certification through CLEET and has completed the State of Oklahoma Chief’s certification program.

His leadership philosophy is rooted in servant and transformational leadership, with a focus on developing personnel, strengthening organizational systems, and fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, and community service.
