Get Your Fantasy Kicks on Route66!

As part of the Route 66 centennial events that will be occurring across Oklahoma throughout 2026, The Mythopoeic Society is hosting Mythcon 54, a three-day conference, will add literary discussions  and activities to the festivities with the theme Get Your Fantasy Kicks on Route 66 that encourages members of the public to register for the conference and to join us in discussions of fantasy literature that include:

• Urban or epic fantasy about the adventures of travels on the road
• Fantasy literature from or inspired by native American oral, written, or historic traditions
• The MythSoc archive, located on Route 66, and the role of archives in fantasy literature
• Exploring local tales of cryptids, the supernatural, or other horrors
• And of course, tales taking place in Oklahoma, the Southwest, and Route 66, the Mother Road

We are interested in presentations about the subjects listed above, related topics, or explorations of fantasy in literature, movies, television, video games, and other media.
